Next guest designers please read - urgent

Last year we postponed challenge 26, and it is now challenge 2. I had some makes sent to me, I think it from two guests (not Konica, I have her email), and they were on my computer.
Unfortunately my computer broke down over a week ago and has gone away to be fixed, I don't have the guest designer's emails or photos, and can't remember who the guests are!

I hope you will see this and resend your emails to me so I can forward them to Doris so they can be included.

Third Prize: 3 Images from Limited Runs
Here is some inspiration from our very talented Team :-

Konica - Our Two Month Guest Designer

Konica made this lovely card with the "Butterfly-4" digi from our sponsor Limited Runs.

Now our Design Team:

Gemma
This week I have used images from Limited Runs in my Journal page, and I had great fun making this page.
I made the background using a combination of Ink and Mica sprays and Distress Ink Pads.  When it was thoroughly dry I applied a copper coloured embossing paste through a stencil at the top of the page.

I stencilled some butterflies and a tree using Distress Ink Pads onto the background.  I coloured in the Images from Limited Runs using Dylusions ink.  I'm not sure if you can see it on the photos, but I have made another wing for each little bird, using a small flap to glue it down.  They look really cute.

I really enjoyed using these gorgeous images on my journal page, they really made me smile...

I've made this tag/card for a pressy...so of course it has to say... 'no peeking!' on the front. Both the sentiment and the birdie are from our sponsor! The papers are Pink Petticoat and inside I've added my own sentiment.

Cazzy

I think the Lady Bug Trio is so cute! I used two of the sentiments that come with this image and ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I used the butterfly 4 to make my gatefold aperture card, which is closed with ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

And this is the card opened!

For this week I made a simple card. I used from the set Owls and their Homes the digis Toucan and Birdhouse #1, and from the set Bugs 1 the digi Buttefly #4. All of these images are from Limited Runs. Additionally, I used a fence, this fence is a SVG cut file. I painted the digi images with watercolor colored pencil Faber Castell, and used double-sided foam adhesive to paste the pieces in layers. Enjoy the challenge!

Hi!!! For this reminder I chose the beautiful "Catisha" digi from our sponsor Paper Pretties.
I wanted to help Catisha to achieve her flying dreams, so I made for her a big butterfly shaped card.

Don´t you think Catisha is so cute???

I also used the Paper Pretties sentiment "Spread your wings and Fly!" worked on yellow adhesive vinyl.
Thank you Gemma, I really enjoyed this challenge.

Quirky Challenge #2 - The 3 B's, Birds, Bugs and Butterflies

Hello everyone!
Gemma here and I want to wish you all a Happy New Year.  I hope that 2014 is good for you all....
Welcome back to our new Quirky Challenge.
To see who won the last challenge - 'Eyes wide Open', click HERE or scroll down to the next post....
I am really quite excited because this is my FIRST challenge.  I had a great time trying to choose the theme for my challenge.  I decided on the 3 B's because I love seeing Birds and Butterflies flying around my garden. It brightens up the day, especially after a long, cold, winter when it means that spring is finally on its way.
Just let your imagination fly and join our new challenge......
We are lucky to be sponsored by three great sponsors, and to encourage you to participate, we have some gorgeous prizes:

Crafty Ribbons sponsor Quirky Challenges

1ST Prize - £10 Voucher for Craft Ribbons

   Paper Pretties

2ND Prize - 6 Images from Paper Pretties

3RD Prize - 3 Images from Limited Runs

Here are beautiful projects to inspire you from our Guest Designers and our Design Team members.
First, the Guest Designers: -

Konica - our 2 month Guest Designer

I have used the image "lady bug trio" with the sentiment,"best friends"...along with the bugs pattern paper at the back.i have also cut out the heads,of the bugs to give it a 3d look and have

embellished the card using my handmade paper rose. i hope you like it,

The Design Team: -
Gemma

It was my turn set the theme this month, and I decided on the 3Bs - Birds, Butterflies and Bugs,
The lovely images were provided by Paper Pretties.  I chose 'Frank, Blossoms and Butterflies, and the sentiment'.

I chose to do a round, wooden wall plaque.  I coloured the background using 'Golden' Paints, and coloured the images using Dylusions Inks.
I also added some metal embellishments and painted over them, then highlighted them with Treasure Gold.

I wanted it to be bright and cheerful, to get us through these cold and wet winter months.....I love the images we have been provided for this challenge.  They were easy to work with and so much fun...

Cazzy

For this card I used the digi "April"  and the sentiment "April Rainbow" from Paper Pretties. The ribbons are from crafty ribbons.

And for this Happy Birthday card I used the "Butterfly 4" and the "Toucan" from Limited Runs. The ribbons are from a ribbon bag that is currently in the Crafty Ribbons sale, the whole bag cost just £1!

I've used all the B's. Some ladybird papers that were freeies from a magazine. A butterfly sticker also a mag freebie and  this lovely Bert the Owl digi from Limited Runs! The butterfly ribbon was from my local store. I coloured the white and pink flowers with a bluebell promarker so the colours would match the 3D owl.

Hello again. A new challenge also I must say with a beautiful theme. In this case, I made a very colorful card, which I applied the image  Birtle - Digi   from Paper Pretties, our great sponsor. I used my Promarkers to color this image, then cut and layered it and finally I used some ribbon. Hope to see your beautiful creations!

Monica

I love humming birds.
For me they represent freedom because humming birds can´t live in a cage.
For this project I used the Limited Runs humming bird digi. I colored it with Spectrum Noir pens and then used the humming bird to embellish a wine glass filled with water and a spray rose in the bottom.

I am really looking forward to seeing your creations.  you can make any project as long as you include The 3 B's....
So let's see what you can do............Have Fun!!

Challenge #1 2014 Reminder - Eyes Wide Open

Reminder time - you have until Saturday 18th Jan to enter this very popular challenge, and the topic is Eyes Wide Open, so I want to see big eyes, lots of eyes, they must be open eyes!

Our sponsor this time is the wonderful Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps who have provided the team with some lovely images to use.

Our first place winner will win 3 images of choice from the whole of the store.

Our second place winner will win 3 images from the DT´s chosen images.
And  our third place winner will win 2 images from the DT´s chosen images.

Stitchy Bear Digital stamps provided the following images to the team:

Delicious Doodles

Stitchy Stamps

Now we have some more gorgeous examples from the team:

Gemma
We were spoilt this month with the beautiful images we were given from 'Stitchy Bear Stamps'.  The images were so easy to use..
For this challenge I used 'Poppy' digi... I wanted to do a large tag, but for a change I used a large black tag.  I mixed texture paste with red paint and scraped it through a poppy stencil. I coloured in the image with Tim Holtz distress markers and a waterbrush ......

For this reminder I made a multifold card to place this lovely "Just Purr-fect" digi from our sponsor.
In this image we have many eyes: the beautiful eyes of the girl, the magic eyes of the cat, so I add another beautiful pair of eyes on the from of the card. I used animal print papers to decorate the card and Spectrum Noir pens to color the image.

I have to say I really enjoyed this challenge. For this week I made a simple card, using the Blue Color as a principal. The digi I used :Poppy, from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. I used   watercolor colored pencil Staedtler , lace, brads and some flowers.

I made this card...without using any pattern paper(this is kind of a fever that i am having for not using pattern
papers in my creations, that started in new year!! lol !!!)..I have used only colored card stock in the card overall..I have used the digi 'Han'ing Out' from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps...the image is so pretty and symbolizes kids in a family..so this card is basically a reminder to all families about its
true meaning...the sentiment"F.A.M.I.L.Y" and its full form "Father And Mother I Love You" is hand written by me... for embellishing the card I haven't put on much as it looked elegant the simple way.
I used Fairy Fae  from our Sponsors this time. I didn't want to colour her too much, so using ProMarkers I just picked the blue and the gold and the Poppy red for her lips, then added gems, pearls, and lots of Stickles Glitter.

Here at last! I also used Fairy Fae, and decided to go for yellow and blue, didn't know Lyn was also going for those colours, at least our hair is different! She is a gorgeous image to colour and I hope I did her justice. Full details are on my blog, including glitter accident!

Challenge #1 2014 - Eyes Wide Open

Happy New Year to you all, and welcome back!
Do you want to find out who won the last challenge? OK click HERE or scroll down to find out.
Are you ready for a new challenge?
Yes?

Well how about a simple one to start us off this year. The challenge today is called Eyes Open, and I want to see eyes, lots of eyes, or big eyes, big eyed characters, it must have eyes and they must be open - that is all there is too it!
Here is Taylor Swift singing Eyes Open, for your entertainment.

Our sponsor this time is:

Our first place winner will win 3 images of choice from the whole of the store.

Our second place winner will win 3 images from the DT´s chosen images.
And  our third place winner will win 2 images from the DT´s chosen images.

Stitchy Bear Digital stamps provided the following images to the team:

Delicious Doodles

Stitchy Stamps

As usual we have some great inspiration from the team.

First our Guest Designer:

It is such a pleasure for me to present my card as a guest designer for you today. I have to admit that working with Digital images holds a certain amount of fear as I am not a confident painter, but having the opportunity to work with "Poppy" and bring her to life brought out the 'I can do this' mindset in me! I chose to use Faber-Castell big brush pens, as they are so vibrant, and I wanted her to Pop off the card, she is so pretty and pleasing to the eye, how can one not love her.

our 2 month Guest Designer - had problems with missing emails, but is here now!
Konica used Fairy Fae on this pretty card with a wise quote about eyes.

The Design Team:

I used Poppy to make a birthday card and added a die cut poppy as well, I love this image too, and I decided to give her red hair because I can do that best!

My desire is that you have a New Year full of good things. For this first challenge of the year, I worked a punched card with flowers. I used the digi-ss Haning' Out from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps And my point is that some things never change, one of those is the family, so keep your eyes open and do not let anyone change your family. Again, Happy New Year!!

What a fabulous way to start the new year, with a challenge that has beautiful images.  The images were provided by Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps and I chose to do a canvas.  The image I picked was called 'Just Purr-Fect'.
I enjoyed this project so much, I absolutely love colouring, and these images are just 'perfect'......
I used Dylusions inks and sprays to create the background as I wanted a bright, vibrant canvas as it was so cold and dreary outside.......Happy new year everyone, It's doing to be a good one!

Lyn
I've used one of our Sponsors fabulous digi's Delicious Doodles /Stitchy Bear Astrology Aquarius
I've used mostly Blues  to colour her plus silver and dark blue card. There's a bit of glitter and lots of embossing.
Happy New Year Every one!!

Happy New Year!!!!
For this challenge I chose "Fairy Fae" digi because her eyes are beautiful. I make a triple easel card and colored Fae with Spectrum Noir pens.
To add a final touch, I used Silhouette Cameo Sketch Pens to write down with my cutting machine, this beautiful Marcel´s Proust quote:
